Billy  was kind enough to put us up in a rental house right across the street from the convention center. Not only was it in walking l-211-300x211distance of the convention center, but strategically located near all the best taco places, great planning Billy! We did have some roommates, but I didn’t mind because one of them was Rich Redmond, the long time drummer for Jason Aldean along with his drum tech guy John.  The house was beautiful and they had the most juicy oranges growing right in the back yard!

In the convention, they had the most juicy new music gear any aspiring musician would want. One of my favorites was from Ultimate Ears. They have always made some of the best in-ear monitors around, but this year they stepped it up a whole other level. In the past, you would have to go to an audiologist to get an impression of your ear then have them ship them off. This left a lot of room for error especial if the audiologist didn’t have experience doing these type of impressions. Now the game changer, real-time 3D imaging of your ear on site at your local music store. Ultimate Ears has teamed up with United Sciences to bring this revolutionary way to give you the perfect fit in-ear monitor.

As we walked the never-ending aisles of vendors I ran into such music superstars such as Randy Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Steward Copeland (drummer for The Police) just to name a few. Sabian had a wall of cymbals and a guy actually making a cymbal by hand with just a hammer.
