Toys For Tots, Drop Off @ Any Progressive Music Center Location

Over the last few years Progressive Music Center has held fund raisers and special events to raise money or gather donations for food, clothing and other items for families and children in the North Carolina area. This year we are proud to partner with the Toys for Tots program to collect new toys to be distributed to needy children this Christmas. Please drop off a new, unwrapped toy for a girl and boy at any of our locations between now and December 17th. Toys for Tots will then pick them up from our facilities in Wake Forest and Raleigh and deliver them to families in need. Annual Spooktacular Event

We had a fun time again his year at the annual Spooktacular event at our Wake Forest location. About 2,000 ghouls, goblins, pirates, Superhero’s and more showed up for the annual Halloween event to trick or treat. We held a costume contest and the winner took home a cool Dean Acoustic V guitar with gig bag.

About 2,000 kids came out to enjoy the annual Spooktacular event. Pictured are the contestants for the costume contest with the Dean Flying V acoustic guitar grand prize.

Fall Lessons & Rock Academy

Fall is here and we are in the midst of back-to-school/Fall registration season! Everyone is settling into their school schedules and our lesson times are booking up. We have openings Monday – Saturday for acoustic/electric guitar, drum/percussion, piano, voice, sax, bass, and banjo in our studio locations. Lessons are open to all ages, all levels, so we can take youth through adults.

Don’t forget about Rock Academy, the only program of it’s kind since 1996 that puts you into a performing band (like the band pictured below that we had perform at a recent Mudcats game). Bands meet us once per week in our studios to rehearse and it’s open to both current students and non-students. It’s the most affordable program like it anywhere on the East Coast!

Recording Class w/ Kenni Hairston

Are you thinking of setting up your own recording or production studio in your home? Have questions about recording techniques and the best mics to use? Need advice on a mixer, piece of recording gear or looking for general information? Check out Kenni Hairston’s recording class at our Wake Forest location on Thursday, September 29th at 7:30.

Kenni has performed on stage, video and broadcast television and toured extensively as a musician and singer. His experience includes performances with musical artists Cyndi Lauper, Cameo, Elliot Easton (“The Cars”), Miles Jaye, Nona Hendryx, Mutiny (members of “Parliament Funkadelic”) and Mtume (composer for the television show, “New York Undercover”). He has received numerous awards including ASCAP Songwriting Award for Number One R&B Single on Billboard Magazine charts, (“Running Back to You” / Vanessa Williams), the 3M Visionary Award for Production Excellence, (Me and Mrs. Jones/Freddie Jackson). Kenni currently composes and scores for video and film projects both nationally and internationally and is presently writing and producing for several recording artists.

Voice/Piano Student Recital Tonight
