Let us know if you have any questions, we’ll be happy to assist you.
Guitar (acoustic and electric)
Drums & Percussion (including marching, indoor drumline, percussion ensemble & band prep courses)
We also offer classes in recording, music technology, theory, composition and more.
It’s never to late or early to learn an instrument. We have students ages 4 to 85 currently taking lessons with us but we’ll give any age a try. We offer lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced level students and our teachers will tailor a lesson plan that fits your needs while making progress during every lesson.
We offer a Saturday morning group class for guitar and piano. Group classes are great for beginning students to get started on the basics of an instrument while learning theory, proper techniques and the ins and outs of playing music. All other lessons for drum/percussion, bass guitar, voice, saxophone are private lessons. We do offer small group classes with special rates for two or three students (perfect for siblings, friends and family) so please inquire on setting those up. We’ll be happy to work with you on arrangements for small groups.
We offer half-hour and one-hour lessons weekly. Most students driving further than forty-five minutes to one-hour for lessons generally take a one-hour lesson. Our lessons are offered monthly with no hidden fees, long term contracts or fine print.
We offer make-up lessons for the following: Student sickness, death in family/emergencies, closure due to inclement weather, major holidays. Also, if your regular teacher is out and a substitute is not available we will make up the missed lesson. We ask that you notify us in advance of lesson cancellations.
We do have a $25 annual registration fee that is charged at the first lesson. From time to time we offer specials where the fee is waived.
We accept Visa, Master Card, Cash and Check. Monthly lesson tuition is billed on the 10th day of each month using our Studio Easy Pay method. This reduces late fees, unpaid tuition and reserves your lesson time from month to month.
Our teachers use a variety of method books and texts from companies such as Hal Leonard, Mel Bay and other print music publishers. Each teacher may use a slightly different method so you will be assigned a book by that teacher. Most method books are $6 – $15 and most come with a CD or DVD.
We are month to month unless you are enrolled in our Lesson/Instrument Program which gives students an opportunity to receive instruments for little to no cost when you register for a select term of lessons. If you opt for regular monthly lessons we only ask for a 30 day notice of cancellation to stop lessons and billing.
You will need to purchase, rent or take advantage of our Lesson/Instrument Package program to have an instrument for practice during lessons and at home (and to use in a Rock Academy™ band). Please see our Helpful Information page for more on our recommendations for instruments. We have a great selection of guitars, basses, amps, drums, keyboards and other instruments that we hand select in our retail shops, so we can help you pick the right instrument for your needs. If you already own a guitar or bass guitar, please bring this with you to each lesson, but again we ask that you reference our Helpful Information section under the Lessons section of our web site. We have everything else you need, including amps, cords and tuners/metronomes in the lesson rooms for use during the lessons.
We recommend a nice practice pad and sticks. Eventually you will need a drum set and we can help you with the purchase, rental or registration for our Lesson/Instrument Package program. We stock nice hand picked drum sets for the beginner to advanced player in our retail shops by major name brands. We have all the drums, practice pads, ear protection and sticks in our teaching rooms, but please bring a good pair of sticks and a notebook or folder. Our staff will be happy to help you with selecting the right instrument for your needs.
