The Fender G-Dec is now featured in all of our teaching rooms at Progressive Music Center. With USB connectivity, SD Card Slot and included software this is an amazing amp for our students to use at their lessons.

We are pleased to announce that Progressive Music Center is recognized as a Fender Education facility and we now feature the G-Dec amplifier in our teaching rooms.

The G-DEC is an incredible modeling amp that comes loaded with 50 preset and 50 user-definable pres, combination of backing tracks which can sound like any of 17 different amplifiers, a digital effects processor containing 29 effects (many in stereo) so you can add reverb, phasing, flanging, wah, etc, an on-board General MIDI synthesizer with MIDI In and Out jacks on the front panel, a 14 second phrase sampler (so you can record licks and practice against them), auxiliary input for CD or mp3 player, phones jack can be used with stereo headphones or as a stereo Line Out jack, a second input jack on the rear panel, a chromatic tuner and included software for the Fender Fuse community and a USB cable!

Drummer Joe Morello, the longtime drummer with the Dave Brubeck Quartet, has died.

Raised in Springfield, Mass. with impaired vision from birth, Morello eventually found his way to New York City, where he played with many leading jazz musicians. In the 1950s, he was a regular member of pianist and NPR host Marian McPartland’s band. In 1990, that band, known as the Hickory House Trio after the venue of their employment, reconvened to tape a special reunion episode of Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz.

However, Morello is best known for his tenure with Brubeck, who employed him for over 12 years during the height of Brubeck’s fame. Famously, the smash hit “Take Five” was arranged as a solo feature for Morello.
